Editing Manager

KLAS is looking to hire an experienced leader to grow and develop our editing team. This individual will build company and team culture by hiring, mentoring, and training strong editors to succeed in their roles. A successful Editing Manager will have a strong editing background who can effectively monitor team performance and apply suitable measures to ensure accuracy and efficiency metrics are consistently met.  

Responsibilities: 

• Hold regular one-on-one and team meetings  

• Provide regular grading feedback to editors  
• Document and measure all team roles and data processing needs  
• Conduct performance evaluations with team members  
• Encourage editor development  
• Assist with data and Salesforce quality and raise the flag if something looks incorrect  

• Structure editing priorities so all data is processed on time  
• Participate in leadership meetings with other departments  

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree-editing major or minor is required  
• Ability to lead, empower, and delegate to others  

• Extensive knowledge of copyediting rules  
• Strong familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style  
• Strong interpersonal skills  
• Excellent work ethic and ability to meet metrics  
• Ability to complete tasks on time and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously  

• Strong communication skills—ability to accept and give feedback  
• Detail oriented and hardworking  
• Enthusiastic and open-minded in the face of change  
• Prior healthcare experience or knowledge is a plus
